Yesterday's Glorious News

The news that American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee were released from a North Korean prison yesterday is truly glorious news. Their release - secured (without a single shot fired, thank you very much) by former president Bill Clinton working in tandem with his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, former vice-president Al Gore, Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, and President Obama - proves, I think, that the Democrats are grounded, thoughtful and steady on matters of foreign policy. Had we been seven months into the presidency of George W. Bush rather than Barack Obama, those two women would have been left to rot.

Steve Clemons talks with Keith Olbermann about Mr. Clinton's efforts in this matter, and how this might well serve as a reset button in relations between the U.S. and North Korea after eight long years of incompetence by the Bush administration...

Update: The Fascist wing of the Republican Party, of course, have their panties in a wad over this. "Appeasement!" "Weak!"

WHATever!
