The Songs of Summer

With the Labor Day weekend winding down, I bring this year's Songs of Summer series to a close. (In it's place a new multiple track playlist feature will debut next weekend.)

Closing things out is a Diana Ross track that hit # 1 on this weekend, 27 years ago. After spending early August of 1980 in the lower half of the top 100, this single leap-frogged into the top 10, and by Labor Day weekend had begun its 4-week run in the top spot.
