All the debate over the cover of the current issue of the New Yorker comes down to this, in my opinion:While many Americans will laugh out loud at the satire, many more aren't smart enough to get it. The publishers of the magazine inadvertently handed the right-wing fascists plenty of fodder with which to continue to spread the lies that Sen. Obama is a towel-headed terrorist from outerspace.
Is this is a "Michael Dukakis riding in a tank" game changer? I certainly hope not, but only time will tell.
