Today is the longest day of the year. I am still working in Seattle, and the NBC affiliate here said that the time between sunrise and sunset today will be 16 hours - which means about 17 hours of light all together. Since arriving here in April I have been amazed at how much more daylight there is here this time of year compared to San Francisco. And after weeks of off and on rain and cool temperatures, the day of the solstice promises to be perfectly sunny with highs in the upper 70's.
