Beth's Mom: An Update

As some of you may already know, our friend Beth's mom had a scare last month with an aneurysm. With the help of a dedicated hospital staff and the overwhelming love of her family, she is getting better with each passing day.

An update from Beth:
Skootching her down the bed, turning her legs to hang off, sitting her up, rocking back and forth; lots of prep for the big "step." And then we did it, mostly lifting with Janelyn (the physical therapist) on one side, me on the other, Dad supporting her knees so they didn't buckle on her. But she got vertical. Claire the Brilliant thought to get out her phone to
snap some pictures. I've included one so you can see the Team help
her make a huge leap. Be warned her scars are visible, and her hair
is about a quarter inch long, and my hair is dirty, and Dad has a
baldish spot. : )

We lifted her twice, setting her back down, and then Janelyn asked
Mom: "Do you want to go back to bed, or try one more time?" I about
cried as she responded " t r y o n e m o r e t i m e
" (they're watering again). Janelyn said she loved that answer--she
never hears it! That was her best "stand;" Janelyn said she felt real
effort, however slight, during that last one. I am of course over the
top thrilled. I wish everyone could have been there to help and
witness and be proud.
We're there with you in spirit, and are thrilled that she is making such excellent progress!

Big hugs all around.
