And there is the key point in this primary campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. Given an intelligent, inspiring, patriotic Democrat against a 72-year-old Republican who is SO yesterday, Americans will go with inspiration.
But put a yesterday Democrat up against the same yesterday Republican...well...just remember...this is a country that has voted for a Republican president in 7 of the last 10 presidential elections (6 if you factor in the popular vote in 2000).
Say it with me: Obama for president.
